Reception Level 2 (CVQ)

This qualification is for anyone whose interests may include:

  • Greeting guests and other visitors.
  • Dealing with booking and confirmation of reservations.
  • Registering and checking out guests.
  • Handling luggage and transportation.
  • Posting guest charges, accepting payment of bills and deposits valuables
  • Assembling and typing guest folios containing hotel/establishment information.
  • Liaising with external agencies and establishments.
  • Collecting and sorting mail or messages and/or arranging for delivery of mail/messages.

  • What qualifications do I need to take an Evening programme?

    No qualifications are required. Some advanced courses require that the beginners’ course be taken first.

  • When do classes begin?

    Evening Programmes are run three times a year and begin in January, May, and September. 

  • How long is the Apprenticeship Programme?

    The apprenticeship contract is usually for a period of three years although some exemptions can be made to shorten the period of training if the apprentice has already completed some theoretical or practical training at an approved institution. Exemptions are subject to the Director’s discretion.

    The CLA centre is where most of the Board’s Evening programmes are held. It is known for its Agricultural and Engineering programmes. CLA is the BVTB’s largest centre and it continues to be expanded.
