CVQ
The Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) is a competency-based approach to certification. The process allows you to use your accumulated knowledge to demonstrate your ability in performing certain skills for a specific occupational area.
To achieve this qualification, your work performance has to be successfully assessed against the specific Occupational Standard by Assessors, who are trained and certified by the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council.
The Barbados Vocational Training Board (BVTB) has been approved to offer CVQ qualification in the following areas.

General Office Administration 1
Food & Drink Service 2
Bar Service 1
Carpentry 2
Cosmetology 2
Electrical Installation
Motor Vehicle Chassis System 2
Housekeeping 2
ICT 1 & 2
Unit certification can be awarded for successfully completed units if all the requirements for the full CVQ are not met.

St. Lukes Skills Training Centre
This centre is located at the old St. Luke’s Girl’s school and offers classes in Carpentry, Plumbing, Auto Electronics and other disciplines.

Lawrence Green House
The Headquarters of the BVTB; the training facilities are located in the same building as our offices and this is our closest location to Bridgetown.

Hothersal Skills Training Centre
This centre offers tiling and masonry in a relaxing country atmosphere.

C. Lomer Alleyne Skills Training Centre
The CLA centre is where most of the Board’s Evening programmes are held. It is known for its Agricultural and Engineering programmes. CLA is the BVTB’s largest centre and it continues to be expanded.

All Saints Skills Training Centre
The All Saints Centre is known for its Bar and Restaurant Services, International Cooking and Garment Making programmes. It has modern cooking facilities, as well as a gazebo-styled bar and restaurant and a garment-making room equipped for the training of industrial sewing machine operators.

Six Roads Skills Training Centre
This centre is located in the industrial estate at Six Roads and offers training in Joinery, Computer Applications, and Cupboard Construction.
