Electrical Installation

This module is designed to enable trainees to acquire competencies and skills required to plan and install electrical wiring for single phase 3-wire installation. Trainees will be taught how to:

  • Read and interpret architectural and electrical plans
  • Plan electrical installations
  • Install switches
  • Install wiring accessories
  • Earth installations
  • Prepare electrical installations for inspection.

    No qualifications are required.

  • How do I sign up?

    Applicants can complete a registration form online. Payment may be made at the Barbados Vocational Training Board headquarters on Culloden Road, St. Michael.

  • Is there a registration fee for the Evening Programme?

    The only fee associated with the course is the cost of the programme.

Training Centres

This course is held at the following training centre(s):

  • St. Lukes Skills Training Centre

    This centre is located at the old St. Luke’s Girl’s school and offers classes in Carpentry, Plumbing, Auto Electronics and other disciplines.

  • C. Lomer Alleyne Skills Training Centre

    The CLA centre is where most of the Board’s Evening programmes are held. It is known for its Agricultural and Engineering programmes. CLA is the BVTB’s largest centre and it continues to be expanded.
